I first read this recipe from the Cook’s Corner article in our local Peoria paper a couple of years ago… it has been a summer favorite treat to make since then.
1/2 c buter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 c sugar
1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 c all-pupose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 medium ripe bananas, mashed
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, sour cream adn vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in bananas. Spread into a greased 15-by-10-by-1-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees fro 20 -25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool.
1 Pkg (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 c butter or margarine, softened
2 teaspoons vailla extract
3 /14 to 4 c powdered sugar
(i only had about 2 /4 c sugar…taste just as good and maybe not too sweet)
For frosting, in a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla. gradually beat in enough powdered sugar to achieve desired consistency Frost bars. Store in the refridgerator.
Makes 3 – 4 dozen. Per Serving 152 calories
